What Documents will Be needed?

The documentation we’ll need to get you approved is determined by the type of loan you’re applying for, but the list below covers the majority of what would be needed for underwriting.


Required for all borrowers

  • Last 30 days of paystubs, with breakdown of YTD income

  • Most recent two months of bank/asset account statements, including all pages

  • Most recent two years of W2’s for all employers

  • Federal tax returns for the most recent two years, including all pages and schedules

  • Driver’s license and social security card

  • Copy of your most recent mortgage statement (refinances only)

  • Homeowner’s insurance quote for your new home with dwelling coverage at least equal to the sales price of the home.

  • Signed/dated letters of explanation for any recent credit inquiries, or unsourced large deposits into your bank accounts.

If Applicable

  • For VA loans, copy of your DD214 and Certificate of Eligibility

  • A full list of properties you own, along with mortgage statements, property tax bills, insurance policies, and lease agreements

  • Bankruptcy papers, including all pages and discharge paperwork

  • Divorce decree and alimony/child support orders

If Self-Employed

  • If self-employed, business tax returns for the most recent two year period, including all pages and schedules

  • Copy of your business license or articles of organization
